How often is the node map updated?

The dashboard reflects the latest collector data, and the service continuously polls Reticulum discovery output. The exact age of the current data is shown in the app and on the service health page.

Question 2

What does announce reliability mean?

Accepted Answer

It scores how consistently an interface announces over completed UTC days. A steady cadence of one to four announces per day earns full credit, noisier days earn partial credit, and missing days earn none.

Question 3

How are uptime and announce reliability different?

Accepted Answer

Uptime comes from TCP reachability probes against probeable endpoints. Announce reliability comes from Reticulum discovery observations per interface. A node can be reachable but announce poorly, or announce regularly while lacking a probeable TCP endpoint.

Question 4

Why is my node missing or scored low?

Accepted Answer

A node can be absent if it is not discoverable from the canary, has not announced recently, lacks an observed path through the mesh, or does not publish metadata that maps to a current interface. Distance and routing also matter, since a distant node may have missed announces even while healthy elsewhere on the network.

Question 5

How accurate is this if it is only one observer?

Accepted Answer

rns.fyi reports what this single canary can see from its network position, so announce loss and endpoint reachability are observer-relative. Additional canaries may be added later to make the picture broader and more geographically fair.
